About the NFRA
The National Flag Racing Association was established in 2018 with the goal of growing the equine sport of flag racing. With a long history of events contested around the nation, flag racing is a unique combination of skill and athleticism from both the horse and rider. The NFRA strives to celebrate the sport while creating more consistency across regions through the creation of unified rules and a point system which offers opportunities to competitors everywhere.

The purpose of the NFRA is to have an association that will bring contestants together in a positive way while helping create more entries and larger payouts. The NFRA works with horse show producers in co-approving flag races so that members can accumulate points and work toward year-end awards at the NFRA Championship Finals held each September. The NFRA also strives to build an outstanding organization program that will award and recognize flag racers for their year-long efforts.
